Personal Protection Order (PPO)
A petition to request a Personal Protection Order (PPO) must be filed in person at the Huron County Clerk’s Office located at 250 E. Huron Avenue, Bad Axe, MI 48413 on the 2nd Floor of the Huron County Building.
Requirements to file a petition for a Personal Protection Order (PPO):

The complete and accurate spelling of the first, middle, and last name of the individual (respondent) you are trying to restrain.

The most recent mailing address of the respondent.

The respondent's age or date of birth. If you do not have the age or date of birth, a petition requesting a PPO cannot be filed.
Other attachments may be included with the filing include:

Photos on a phone must be converted to a paper photos.

Medical discharge papers

Hard copies or transcripts of voice mails or text messages.

Police Reports.
PPO petitions will be delivered to the Judges office the same day if filed before 3:00pm. Petitions filed after 3:00 are delivered the next day.

There is no fee to file a PPO Petition.
